My friend Emily over at Sew ET has recently opened up an online fabric shop on Etsy called Don’t Drool on the Fabric. She has a mix of recent and hard to find prints at reasonable prices. You’ll want to keep an eye on her shop as she builds her inventory and expands her product range.

Emily asked me last week if I’d be interested in creating a fat quarter bundle from the fabric she currently has in stock and hosting a giveaway for it. Of course! I’m always happy to help promote a small business and you know how much I enjoy doing giveaways.

So I headed right on over to her shop and started looking around. I was immediately drawn to the green and orange prints. Green is my favorite color and orange has been tickling my fancy lately. It’s really weird because I always thought I didn’t like orange but I keep being drawn to it.

Here’s what I came up with! The one on the bottom is a bit busier and bolder than the rest but I like the colors. It even has a pinch of purple in it. These are the prints in order from top to bottom. I’ve linked them to the individual item pages in Emily’s shop.

When I received the bundle in the mail the other day, I was so very pleased with how it turned out. I am glad. I really wanted to make a nice bundle for Emily.

What do you think? I’m really liking the greens and oranges. The colors are giving me both a 1970s vibe and a feeling of summer. She’s added the bundle to her shop. You can find it here. Go check it out! While you’re there you can buy it or even just favorite it. Emily was so sweet to send me one to keep and to let me give another one away to one of you.

  1. You have a great eye for color. I love the retro feel. These are not my normal go-to colors and you have pulled me into them – I love them. They will add pizzaz to a quilt!. Emily has to have a great shop with these fabrics. I’m heading over to have a look. Thanks for the intro to Emily.

  2. Congratulations on winning the FQ from Sew Sisters. Nice set of fabric to play with. I like orange these days after I did the PatchPal Cat.

  3. I have been wanting to make a green and orange quilt for a long time, even have a stack of fabrics waiting. This bundle would work with what I’ve got and I love to use lots of variety in my quilts. Thanks for the chance to win.

  4. I love these bright colors! Purple is one of my favorites but I wouldn’t have noticed the tiny purple color if you hadn’t mentioned it! Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. Beautiful fabric bundle! Green is my favorite colour and I’m really liking the orange. Thanks for the chance to win.

  6. That is a beautiful group of fabrics. I am often surprised to see they come from different lines. I wasn’t much of an orange fan until it became my daughter’s favorite color. After working with oranges a lot, I am now a fan.

  9. Its so fun to win, I just won the P.Bravo Rapture bundle, I love winning bundles artist pick out because it helps my Color choices, learning chrom and mono … that sort.. also, seeing fabric I would normally chose for myself, since I am terrible at it. thank you

  10. I have a thing for orange with blue and yellow. Seems like it’s a good combination for me even when the blue and yellow are together. ;) Thanks for the chance to win. That little dash of purple stands out more than I would have expected given that there’s so little of it!

  11. I am loving this bundle and color combination! Not just saying this so I’ll win either. I am really liking it. It would make such a nice summery table runner and placemats, or a quilted wall hanging, or even an evening quilt.

  12. Just sent two quilts to my long-armer. I insured them for $200 though that wouldn’t begin to cover the hours I spent sewing together over 4000 diamonds BY HAND! It’s a matter of trust to send them on their way through the mail…

  13. I love giveaways and I win occasionally if I enter a bunch at once. I only enter the ones that work for me, why enter to win a craft giveaway if you don’t craft right, let the others have a better chance. But when it comes to fabric, If I see the giveaway, I enter it. LOL sometimes twice by accident.

  26. I’ll share a joke I found on the Net.

The quilter died and went up to the Pearly Gates. There, she was faced with a choice: she had lived her life so that she could either go to Heaven, or Hell – her choice. She was pretty sure this would have all been decided by now, and she was pretty sure where she wanted to go, but she was also a very curious quilter.

She asked Saint Peter if she could just take a look at what might be awaiting her in Hell.

They entered a huge room (anyone ever been to the Houston Quilt Festival? Bigger than that!), with tables and chairs. There were quite a few pleasant looking quilters sitting everywhere. But it was what was in the middle of each table that caught her attention: a wonderful huge pile of fabric. She thought she’d died and gone to Heaven!!!

She made up her mind on the spot, and turned to Saint Peter: “I know that Heaven is probably very nice, but I’ve decided that I want to stay here, thank you.”

As the door closed quietly behind him for all eternity, everyone at the tables turned to her with a smile on their faces and said, with one voice:

    “Did you bring the needles?”

  27. First thought on this bundle is it looks luscious . . . second thought – it reminds me of the orange and the green in fruit stripe gum! Do they even make that gum anymore?

  28. I worked in my back yard for almost 12 hours yesterday and no it isn’t that big. It just needed a lot of attention. It included two trips to Lowes and one to our local garden center and a drive through at Chick Fil A- no way was I going in looking the way I did!

  29. i love this beautiful fabric! i have quilted for over forty years i hand piece hnad quilt and donate to charity. i am on disability and receive less than four
hundred dollars monthly so buying fabric is not an option. i will take any scraps, ufos, tops etc that you do not want and finish them and donate. thank you for a wonderful giveaway. babscorbitt@gmail.com

  30. Beautiful farics! My favorite is the one you said was busier than the others; the bits of purple add some spice. :)

  31. I too like the busy fabric. It adds a punch to the bundle. The other fabrics are gorgeous as well. A really summery mix for the perfect pattern. Not sure what that may be yet. Thank you so much for the fantastic giveaway.

  32. Just returned from a fun weekend trip with 5 of my favorite friends. At one time we all taught 4th grade together. We visited Fayetteville and Bentonville, AR. The Crystal Bridges Museum was amazing!

  33. Green is my favourite too! What a lovely bundle you have pulled together. I love those mini tulips. Thanks for the giveaway

  34. The round leaves print attracts my attention! And orange-green combo, couldn’t agree more they scream SUMMER. I’m thinking of a picnic blanket or sun hat, and would love to bring a big icy jug of lemonade with me ;)

  35. Thank you Melissa and Emily over at Sew ET an online fabric shop on Etsy called Don’t Drool on the Fabric. For the Bundle abundant Bundle..
