Two quick things!

First, the winner of my giveaway for the Tim Holtz fat quarters and Aurifil thread. Lee is the lucky duck! I’ve already sent her an email letting her know.

Thank you everybody who stopped by and entered! If you didn’t win this, I hope you were lucky in another giveaway. I entered a bunch but haven’t heard I’ve won anything. I was lucky at a ticket raffle that my quilt guild had today as a fundraiser. I won three of the prizes!

Second, I just ordered a KitchenAid Artisan mixer from Target. I’m so excited! I’ve never owned a stand mixer and I’ve been eyeing these for so long. It’s a combination birthday (it’s next week) and Christmas present. Yay!

It’s not a small purchase but Target currently has them on sale for 25% off plus they have a 10% off code. If you use your RedCard, that’s another 5% off. If you’re a team member, that’s another 10% off.

So, Target has about 30 colors available in this mixer model (more than shown above). Here’s a question for you:

Can you guess the name of the color I ordered?

I can’t wait for it to arrive and mix something up in it!

  1. Congratulation on winning the three prizes. It’s always fun to win. You are going to love your KitchenAid. I have one that is 20 years old and one my niece gave me as a Christmas gift two years ago. It’s the Electric Blue one. Love them both but if I could pick a new color it would be the new Seaglass color. It’s beautiful. If you used all those discounts you got a fantastic deal! Can’t wait to see what color you picked.

  2. Have fun with your new Kitchenaid mixer. Mine is over 30 years old and gets quite a workout. Be sure to check out the food grinder attachment. We make our own ground meat, sausage, etc. If I could change the color of mine, it would be cinnamon red. Happy baking!

  3. I’m guessing Aqua Sky. I’ve had my Kitchenaid mixer since 1975–unfortunately during the Harvest Gold era and these mixers never die!

  4. How fun to have a KitchenAid Mixer. I wish I had bought one 40 yrs. ago after college. I got one 2 yrs ago and it is THE BEST mixer–far better than the Sunbeam I had for 10 yrs. I think you got a Turquoise.

  5. Congrats on your wins. I consider ordering your mixer to be a win. I had an Oster stand mixer for years. One day my husband (now deceased) came home and he had bought a 4 quart Kitchen Aid mixer for $99m yes $99 at Walmart, There are a couple of features I wish I had on the 5 quart, but for the difference in price, I am thrilled. I have grinder and slicer attachments. I make a ham loaf that is adored by my family that requires ground ham and the grinder is terrific for it. Also, I use the slicer (I don’t think that’s the right nmae) with different attachments for cole slaw and for fried potatoes and scalloped potatoes. With the potatoes being uniform, they cook evenly in a great manner. Mine mixer is white and I would guess you bought a pink one.

  6. I’m going to guess sort of teal green, if that’s one of the thirty. =) I wanted a red one, but a friend sold me hers for $55, so I settled for the sort of almond color. Fun to make cookies – so much easier than my hand-held one (dark green) that’s about 15 years old or more, but still running strong. So glad you got one!

Congratulations to Lee for winning your giveaway and to you for winning the raffle.

  7. Congratulations to you Melissa! And thank you for the great giveaway! I am SO exited to have won!! I loved to see my name in the little Wiener Winner box (I love wiener dogs!) Thanks again!

  8. Happy Birthday, has your mixer arrived yet, I love the Candy Red color and also have been eyeing them for ages in Greece they sell them for 700euros, it’s crazy! How are you doing Melissa?
